The Story
Commonpot started with a simple frustration: great recipes scattered across emails, text threads, screenshots, and memory. The best food anyone ever made for us came from people who learned it from someone else — a grandmother, a neighbor, a friend who traveled somewhere interesting — and those recipes deserve a better home than a screenshot buried in a phone.
We wanted a place that felt like a recipe box passed down through a family, not a content farm optimized for ad clicks. A place where you know who made the dish, what they changed, and whether the people who tried it loved it.
Over time, that vision grew. If recipes are worth preserving, so are the skills behind them. And if skills are worth sharing, so are the people who hold them. Commonpot is our attempt to build all three — a recipe archive, a cooking school, and a community — in one place.
